Project Scope:
Complete Engineering and Design
This project involved the complete replacement of overhead electric primary
and secondary,
transformers, and building switchgear with a new underground electric utility
system including power
and communications. Scope included complete engineering and design, site services,
bid evaluation, and construction overview. Worked directly with NSTAR Electric
in cooperation with army base engineering staff and Department of Defense
representatives to replace and upgrade system capacity, functionality, and
operability.

Main Campus Capacity Upgrade; Regis College
Project Scope:
Electric Capacity Upgrade Analysis
Completed a detailed assessment and engineering design study for a campus-wide
upgrade of
electrical capacity. Project coincides with a major campus upgrade to the
Science Center
and an upgrade to the electrical distribution system required to support expanding
loads. A new electric feeder concept was also outlined as part of the preliminary
design basis.

Overhead Reconductoring - Spacer Cable
Customer:
Massachusetts Electric – Hubbardston, MA
Project Scope:
Electrical Distribution Engineering & Design
Engineering, design, permitting, environmental assessment, forestry requirements
and coordination
activities with local TelCo and cable provider were included in the project
scope for this project.
Existing transformers, switches, poles, fuses, etc. were replaced as part
of the project. ControlPoint
has full project responsibilities for project design and management including
construction overview.

Electrical Distribution System Inspection & Study;
UMass – Boston
Project Scope:
Detailed Engineering Study and Conditional Assessment
Detailed inspection and conditional assessment of the campus-wide electrical
system Infrastructure for the UMASS Boston campus. Study included a review
of each substation and transformer vault, cabling, and switchgear. A formal
report of our findings was generated with study results and recommendations
for upgrade and system improvements.

Project Name:
Langworthy Substation Extension Tie
Project Scope:
Electrical Distribution Engineering & Design
This project includes the reconductoring of a total of six miles of electric
distribution line. ControlPoint provided complete engineering and design services
for the project located in Westerly, RI. Construction of a new 12.47 kV back
up supply to Langworthy Substation will be completed as a result of the design,
and loads from the existing 34.5 kV circuit will be transfered to the new
12.4 kV circuit.
